Internet Marketing

The principal objective of any Internet Marketing campaign is to attract traffic to your website. Regardless of what kind of business you ultimately want to build on the Net, targeted traffic is the key to greater income.
The achievement of a successful internet marketing campaign is not an easy task to accomplish, but with careful analysis and planning, you can save a lot of money and time and achieve very good results – by choosing the right options and channels.
Generally speaking there are a number of basic Steps of Internet Marketing which you should follow and these are itemised as follows:
Internet Marketing Step I – Your Own Theme-Based Content Web Site – In the first instance, the single best way to generate traffic is to build your own Theme-Based Content web site.
Regardless of who you are or what you do, you will benefit enormously from having a Web presence. More and more individuals are turning to the Internet as their preferred and primary source of information. And a web presence allows potential clients to find out about you and your products and services – better than a small Ad ever could.
- A web presence gives your business a distinct edge over your local competitors;
- A locally-based service can use its web presence to generate additional income from both a global and local audience;
- A web presence is inexpensive and one lifetime customer can bring significant $ profit to your business;
Internet Marketing Step II – Building Free Major Search Engine Traffic – The essence of building traffic and income through your web site is to deliver valuable content to your readers. A search engine lives and dies on the quality of its searches and in order to remain relevant, it continuously updates and maintains its database. The vast majority of web site owners will not pay to have their pages listed in any major SE. By major search engines I refer to Google, Yahoo and other popular engines such as MSN. As a result, free submissions continue to be a viable way for any SE to stay current and viable.
Search Engines use sophisticated computer programs called spiders to go out and bring your internet marketing site back to the Search Engine’s home database. Another computer program decides whether your site, or some other web site, is more relevant to a search request for a particular keyword.
If a Web surfer searches for “life insurance” then Google wants to deliver the most relevant life insurance sites on the Net. If someone else searches for “home insurance” at Yahoo, then Yahoo wants to give that searcher the most relevant sites for that word or phrase.
The Search Engines are in business, too. Their product is the quality of their search results. You need to honestly convince each Search Engine that your internet marketing page is the most relevant for each keyword that you target.
Internet Marketing Step III – Linking Strategies or Link Popularity – Reciprocal links are links with other internet marketing sites which are generally related to the theme of your website and are second only to search engines as a way to get traffic to your web site. The internet marketing concept is simple – you link to a site and that site webmaster returns the favor and links back to your site.
The more sites that link to a site, and the more important they are, and the closer they are to the theme of that site, the more “link popularity” points are earned.
The visitors that come from internet marketing related websites are usually highly targeted and you have a much better chance of selling them your product or service Since they’ve come to your site through a link on a related website you know they’re interested in your sites theme. These visitors are prime prospects for your product or service and best of all you don’t have to pay for a single one.
Apart from getting visitors from the linking site itself more recently some major search engines are using the number of links to a site as an important factor in establishing a sites relevancy. The idea behind this is that the more links a site has to more valuable it must be.
Internet Marketing Step IV – Pay-Per-Click Search Engines – Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Search Engines are different to normal Search Engines as you actually have to pay to be found.
Basically, you are bidding for keyword positioning. For example, if one of your internet marketing pages focuses on the topic “motor sports”, you can bid for the #1 placement on the first page of search results.
Each time someone clicks through to your internet marketing site via the link on the search results page, you are charged the amount that you bid. Bidding starts at a penny at most engines and you can bid for as many relevant keywords as you like.
You should think of PPCs as a low-cost advertising method. If used wisely you can turn your advertising dollars into large profits. Alternatively, if they are losing you money, you can stop using them just like any other form of advertising.
Internet Marketing Step V – Publishing Your Own e-Zine – One of the most important aspects of a vibrant online business is building a sense of community and trust which should be based on nuturing a good relationship with customers. And that is the goal of a newsletter.
Publishing an eZine or a newsletter that is eMailed to the recipient plays, in internet marketing, an important part in building a long term valuable list of current and future clients. There is no better way to keep in touch with them on a regular basis. Every time your previous or potential customer receives your newsletter you immediately:Remind them about you and your products or services; Build an element of trust; Build credibility; Establish a relationship; and Promote your products or services.
